Tarangire National Park is well-known for having Tanzania’s largest elephant population and is an excellent birding destination. The park boasts breathtaking savanna beauty and magnificent giant baobabs. Thousands of animals rely on the Tarangire River for water during the park’s dry season, making for a superb game drive experience. Elephants, elands, giraffes, lions, buffalo, cheetahs, leopards, and zebras are among the animals that can be easily identified while driving on a four-wheel drive.
The north and center of the park are where the majority of the wildlife congregates.
You won’t quickly forget the sight of thousands and thousands of zebra and wildebeest. It gives lions, leopards, and spotted hyenas—the park’s most common inhabitants—a feeding frenzy as they anxiously await their next opportunity to hunt. Indeed, all five of Africa’s most magnificent wild creatures may be found here. You have a good chance of spotting a cheetah, even though their population fluctuates depending on the presence of gazelles.
What to do in the Park:
Game driving, guided walking safaris, balloon safaris, bush meal and bird watching.
Best time to visit:
June to October (dry season) & January to March ( less rains season)
